Engagement in Health and Social Services | Amélio

Amélio for health and social services

You have thousands of employees across dozens of facilities. Do you know how your teams are really doing?

From one facility to the next: which unit is burning out, which shift is disengaging, and who is thinking about leaving the health network?

In Quebec, nearly half of violence-related workplace injuries occur in health and social services: 2,555 in 2024.Source: CNESST (Quebec), statistics on work-related psychosocial risks

What your teams go through

Day, evening, night: every shift has its own reality

  1. Unit managers without a minute to spare

Between admissions, appointments and meetings, your unit managers are on site, but they don't have a minute to listen to their team.

  2. Overtime

When it becomes the norm, your employees pile up fatigue and watch their personal lives wear thin.

  3. Attendance

Whether absences drag on or presenteeism goes unnoticed, either way your team is running on empty.

  4. Succession and retention

Every departure weighs on the colleagues who stay, and on the quality of care and services.

  5. Psychosocial risks

Occupational health and safety obligations require you to assess and prevent them, in every facility.

A story close to our hearts

A large service organization, managers finally supported

At Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), managers feared surveys would be used to evaluate how they managed. With Amélio, they found a tool built for them. Employee comments led to a concrete action plan, including a new break room, and the organization gained nearly 10 eNPS points.

“Managers saw HR as Big Brother and the surveys as a tool to evaluate their performance. Now they see Amélio as a real, everyday tool for them.”

Quebec Law 27 · psychosocial risks

A prevention approach you can document

In Quebec, since October 6, 2025, institutions with 20 or more people must have a prevention program that includes psychosocial risks, with a joint health and safety committee. Amélio helps you:

  1. Measure workload, recognition, relationships and other risk factors, by facility.
  2. Prioritize actions with the joint committee, based on reliable data.
  3. Track progress over time and keep a record of your approach.

What people in the health network ask us

Is Amélio suited to an organization with several thousand employees?

Yes. Results are organized according to your structure: facilities, departments, services, job titles. Each manager sees their teams' results, and leadership keeps the big picture. Amélio also integrates with your human resources information system.

How do you protect anonymity when filtering by job title?

Respondents' identities are kept confidential and anonymous. No result is displayed below a minimum response threshold: a small group is simply hidden, as in the network map example.

How do we reach evening, night and on-call staff?

The survey can be completed on a phone, at any hour, by email, text message, QR code posted in break rooms, kiosk or user code. No work email address is needed. Average participation among our clients is 85%.

Our unit managers are swamped. Is this one more task?

Quite the opposite. They receive their results already analyzed, recommended actions tailored to their team and a ready-to-use meeting plan. Automated coaching then supports them, with no training to organize.

See five more questions

We already run an organizational survey. Why change?

The survey is the easy part. The challenge is making sure every manager, often responsible for dozens of people, knows what to do with their results. Amélio gives them their team's action plan and automated coaching to carry it out. During a reorganization or a period of overload, a pulse survey checks on progress.

Where is the data hosted?

In Canada. Amélio complies with Quebec's Law 25 and the GDPR, and holds SOC 2 Type 2 certification. Details are on our data security page.

Does Amélio help meet psychosocial risk prevention requirements, such as Quebec's Law 27?

Amélio measures recognized psychosocial risk factors, helps prioritize actions and documents progress over time. Our advisors can also support your joint health and safety committee through the process.

Our purchasing goes through public tenders or a group purchasing organization. Is that an obstacle?

No. Whether the purchase goes through your institution or a group purchasing organization, by direct award or public tender depending on the contract value, it goes smoothly. In every case, our team provides the documentation your file requires: data security, hosting in Canada, SOC 2 Type 2 certification and compliance with privacy laws such as Quebec's Law 25.

Amélio measures engagement. What about our employees' performance?

Amélio also includes a performance management module: skills development to build the next generation for every unit, 360 feedback between colleagues and professionals, reviews and one-on-one meetings. Because it's connected to engagement results, managers evaluate each person with their team's context, rather than with an isolated score. See performance management.
