Every engagement tool sends surveys. What sets them apart is what they measure, what happens next, and where your data lives. Here are the criteria we recommend checking, in order.
Amélio is a Québec-based employee engagement and performance management platform, founded in 2017 in Montréal and used by more than 750 organizations in 58 countries10. What sets it apart: technology sorts the data, and real organizational development advisors help you turn it into an action plan.
Best for: small and mid-sized organizations, municipalities, healthcare and public bodies across Canada that want to move from measurement to action, with expert support.
Officevibe is published by Workleap, a Montréal company formerly called GSoft. The product was renamed Workleap Officevibe in 2023171. It relies on short pulse surveys with adjustable frequency18, a bank of 122 questions tied to 10 key metrics and 26 sub-metrics scored from 0 to 109, anonymous feedback that managers can reply to, and Good Vibes peer recognition19.
Culture Amp was founded in 2009 in Melbourne, Australia2. It offers engagement surveys (Engage), a performance module (Perform) and benchmarks by industry, region and company size. Its prices are not published: they are quoted based on headcount15.
Qualtrics was founded in 2002 in Provo, Utah, and has been owned since 2023 by Silver Lake and CPP Investments3. EmployeeXM is part of a broader experience platform (customers, employees, products). It is highly configurable and can host data in Canada, in Montréal7. Prices are quoted on request16.
Our recommendation: for most Canadian organizations, from 50 to a few thousand employees, Amélio offers the best balance of scientific rigour, human support, compliance (data in Canada, Quebec's Laws 25 and 27) and transparent pricing.
For most Canadian organizations, Amélio is the most complete choice: a scientific survey based on the JD-R model, prioritization of levers, an organizational development advisor included, data hosted in Canada and a dedicated program for Quebec's Law 27. Workleap Officevibe suits teams that want a light pulse run by managers, while Culture Amp and Qualtrics mainly target large international companies.
Amélio hosts its data in Canada, mainly in Québec, on Microsoft Azure. Qualtrics offers a Canadian region (Montréal). Culture Amp only offers the United States, the European Union or Australia. For Workleap Officevibe, the public documents consulted mention a Microsoft Azure datacenter without naming the region: ask for it in writing.
At Amélio, a one-time diagnostic starts at CA$2,550, continuous engagement at CA$3,850 per year and the complete offering at CA$5,000, advisory support included. Culture Amp and Qualtrics do not publish their prices. Always compare total cost: licence, implementation, support and annual increases.
Yes, if it measures psychosocial risks and leaves a dated record. Amélio offers a dedicated Law 27 program: a validated psychosocial risk survey, analysis, prevention program templates and support. We did not find an equivalent offering in the public sources of the other three solutions.
It is not mandatory, but it is often what separates a report left in a drawer from visible change. At Amélio, an organizational development advisor is included in every plan to read the results, build the plan and track progress.
A pulse survey asks a few questions frequently to follow a trend. A diagnostic measures all factors and their importance in depth, to know where to act. Amélio does both: a baseline diagnostic, then continuous follow-up.
For Amélio, we describe our own offering as published on amelio.co. For the other solutions, we read their websites, help centres and legal documents, and we cite an independent directory only when the vendor does not publish the information (a price, for example). Facts were checked on November 3, 2026.
This page is published by Amélio, one of the solutions being compared. We aimed to describe the other tools accurately, including the cases where they are a better fit than we are. Trademarks belong to their owners. Has something changed, or does something look wrong? Email [email protected] and we will correct it promptly.
In 30 minutes, an advisor walks you through the diagnostic, the prioritization of levers and the managers' action plans, with a price based on your number of employees.
